Finally I had to face the fact that I was (and always had been) a Miniaturist. My love for miniatures has no boundaries, as does the hobby. Dolls, furniture, houses, roomboxes, the list is endless. I experiment with everything, including polymer clay and fabrics. I offer two workshops. 1. Fabric – a Lingerie set for display in a dollhouse or roombox. This set will comprise of a corset, chemise, French knickers, stockings, slippers and a nighty. You will have a choice of colours. Fabric used will be silk, satin, fishnet, lace and tiny braiding. If we run out of time, a reasonably comprehensive tutorial will be your guide. 2. Polymer clay - bread, breadboard and a bowl of fruit. We will make the yummiest looking bread – you will almost be able to smell it – and a bowl of fruit. You will also learn the technique of blending the clay to simulate oak for the breadboard and bowl, and the technique of “painting” for a realistic look. News in South Africa
